Did you ever thing that you could travel to Egypt with a click of your mouse. Well now with more and more interactive sites with podcasting and video connections bringing foreign places is a lot easier than imaged. And maybe you do not want to be so exotic and travel abroad, Museums now are online. Fully curated exhibits are now online with interactive experiences for all the “museum -goers”.

No longer do you have to step outside to see the world, though it might be good to get some fresh air!

You just have to know how to stumble…

So who would figure that learning skills on the computer would be so easy, Stumblin’ online is now not only my favorite thing to do, but my best education tool, especially when it comes to Web2.0 and technology.

You think that you want to explore the world of Web Design well you can find sites that will tell you exactly what not to do, and exactly what some of the best graphics online are right now.

Or maybe you get bored and want to try some hacking techniques out…well go figure you can stumble on those sites too. Some will challenge you if you think you are a pro or just give you some how to instruction.

Or maybe you are just not that great but want to impress some friends, well you can get cheat sheets for that. What to show off some CSS, well I have little to no knowledge but with a cheat sheet like this I could do it. But if you know CSS and well want something else there are hundreds where that came from.

So pretty much the long of the short is if you do not know it…stumble it and you will!

So the video game world is geared more towards the masculine world. I do not think that many would disagree with this statement. But would you guess that 38 percent of the gamers today are female, and relationships are being tried. Why is this, because the significant others do not like to take backseat to the digital world. The true trial is not getting the females playing the games, but behind the games. There are scholarship opportunities out there just for women in technology because it is a masculine monopoly and no longer a masculine world.

On a side note, this article really hit me, because when I applied to college I applied to the School of Applied Sciences to major in Computer Sciences. Everyone told me that is where the scholarships were just being handed to young women like myself, and you would have no trouble getting a date, lol, being one of the only girls in the program. This was a universal response from all the programs I applied to just 2 years ago.

Bill Gates is helping LinkedIn prompt their “online professional network”. Similar to the popular Facebook networking site, LinkedIn is trying new ways to reach the younger audience. They are using big names like Bill Gates to help attract more than 19 million members. Does this mean that Microsoft is looking into purchasing this new interest of Gates’, no comment was made, but stock may become available for this new networking site within the next year.

So in learning about Stumbleupon, none of my friends believe me when I say that I am doing homework while stumbling. It is kinda ironic how much I am learning from the sites that I stumbleupon, being that it is making my education take backseat. But taking interactive media studies, I can stumble and do homework. Some of the sites that I stumbleupon are so interesting, some even about hacking [do not ask me what interest of mine leads to those sites, but some how it does.], codes for coding websites and even free fonts. One site I stumbledupon was an interactive exhibit site, which is my field of study. There was another site that with a click of the mouse you had access to millions of books and articles that you could rely on for research. Go figure a procrastination tool could lead to such cool homework.

YouTube is making advances with better video editing and better recommendation process. Youtube is working with marketers to help reach the users.

User Generated Context is being made better through these advancements from Youtube. There are more interactive competitions through youtube postings, which will get more users excited about posting and watchers more engaged.

Because students don’t have enough to distract them…

Nowadays people do not have to go far on the web in search of what they want. StumbleUpon has brought the search to you. You log in and select what you like and hit stumble… websites that fit your interests just fill your screen. Web views have increased on “hidden” sites greatly because of this new aggreagator.

Wow! how dating has changed. How interactive can you get. Long distance relationships are being made easier thanks to web cams and videoconferencing!
